About the opportunity:
Your new role will support the creation and delivery of high impact media and PR campaigns to promote NATS’ Technology and product offerings to our customers around the world.
You’ll lead on the creation, delivery, and promotion of NATS content across owned, earned and paid for channels, to maximise audience engagement in line with company strategy. You’ll also be a key member of our Media Relations team ensuring that all media enquiries are dealt with efficiently and appropriately.
Key responsibilities:
Take part in media relations activities that target media in the UK and internationally, to protect and promote NATS’ reputation.
Support our Media Relations operation – managing enquiries from journalists and keeping media collateral up to date.
Prepare and write online materials – news releases, articles, and statements.
Work with internal and external Communications teams and subject matter experts, to devise an ongoing content strategy using digital and traditional communications channels.
Be a leading content creator, producing written and multimedia materials appropriate to the channel and activity.
Own and deliver regular, ongoing measurement and analysis to ensure best practice.
Participate in NATS’ response to major incident scenarios, including joining the 24/7 Duty Press Officer roster and staffing the Press Office out of hours at little or no notice if required.
About you:
You’ll have significant experience in media relations / PR (in-house or agency) and excellent understanding of social media in B2B & B2C environments (preferably large, complex environments). You’ll also understand media relations systems and processes (press cuttings, journalist databases etc.) and be comfortable using them to identify potential issues and opportunities.
Other key requirements include:
Proactive team player with exceptional communication and writing skills.
Excellent news sense and awareness of potential newsworthy or contentious issues.
Superb influencing skills and stakeholder management ability (internal & external).
Self-starter with strong organisational skills to support multiple projects, working to tight timescales.
Able to work at both a strategic and tactical level with strong attention to detail and an appetite to raise the bar.
Evidence of (or ability to learn) skills required for working with the media following a major incident / significant event.
