NATS wants to hear from Air Traffic Engineers or Engineers working in related industries who can pick up new skills quickly. As an Airport Engineer at Farnborough Airport, you’ll be supporting Air Traffic Control systems and acting as a focal point for maintenance management on a range of operational engineering systems and functions.
If you’re a highly capable Engineer, we will provide the appropriate levels of training for the right candidate. This not an entry level position, relevant experience is always desirable with the capability to deliver a safe and efficient service.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Daily operational checks for Air Traffic Control including airfield inspections
- Maintaining operational safety and ensuring compliance with aviation regulation
- Management and execution of scheduled servicing/planned/preventative maintenance
- Fault finding, modification and unscheduled maintenance of systems and services
- Assisting with projects throughout their lifespan, subject to capacity and capability
- Provide on the job training for other engineers within scope of competency and in accordance with operating procedures
- Liaising with local Air Traffic Controllers and the Airport Operator to swiftly resolve issues
Qualification/Skills:
- Engineering qualification to Higher National Certificate (NVQ Level 4) as a minimum in Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications or Computer Science and relevant experience
- Undertaken structured Engineering training (e.g., recognised apprenticeship) and have extensive engineering experience
- An understanding of airport operations would be beneficial but isn’t mandatory, a passion for aviation is a must
- A full UK Driving Licence Required for Airside driving
- Flexible approach and attitude and ability to work unsupervised
- Willing to be a Team player and support others where required
Additional Information:
Working hours are rotational shift pattern Monday to Friday within the hours of 06:30 – 19:00 with the requirement to be On-Call 1 in 3 weeks.
