Job Title: Cardiac Physiologist for Invasive Cardiology

Location:  Cromwell Hospital, 164-178 Cromwell Road, London SW5 0TU

Permanent / Contract:  Permanent

Salary range:  £Competitive per annum
Role specific benefits: Flexible working shifts per week plus on-call commitment

Full time/part time:  Full-Time, 37. 5 hours per week

We are currently recruiting for a Cardiac Physiologist in the area of Invasive Physiology to work at Cromwell Hospital – our private internationally recognised hospital located in the heart of Kensington, London.

The Cromwell Hospital is working towards providing Cardiac Diagnostic Services 8am to 8pm during business days. Therefore, there will be a requirement to work through flexible work swifts. There is also requirement for participation in an out-of-hours on-call with generous and competitive pay.

About The Role:

To strengthen service delivery and patient care within the EPS-Ablations, CRM and Interventional Cardiology.  You should have advanced clinical knowledge in Electrophysiology and CRM.  This will be balanced with some Interventional Cardiac procedures.  A renewal, refresh training on Interventional Cardiology can be provided to the candidate who already possesses previous experience and core knowledge.

Interventional Procedures:

LHC and PCI (haemodynamic monitoring and reporting).  Coronary assessment ie FFR/IFR-RFR, IVUS, and IVL.  Support TAVI, other valvuloplasty, Closure Device procedures (ASD, PFO, LAA) and occasional RHC

CRM Procedures:

Skilled and comprehensive knowledge of CRM Implantation and follow up.  Box Change, Upgrade/Downgrade, Lead intervention, and other CRM related procedures with exposure/awareness of left bundle, leadless and HIS pacing. 

Arrhythmia Therapies:

Competent and highly skilled in Electrophysiological studies & Ablation.  Able to operate Bard LSPRO with Micropace with independence, and perform diagnostic EP Study and ablation.  Competent using Carto 3D mapping system for simple and complex atrial arrhythmias, SVT and VEs.  Able to operate Cryo ablation system to perform atrial arrhythmias. 

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

  • Appropriate clinical experience post qualification.

  • Highly developed specialist knowledge acquired through training as a Clinical Physiologist.

  • Extensive experience in a wide range of invasive and techniques involved in the assessment and therapy provision for patients with cardiac disease, specifically in complex electrophysiology including 3D mapping.

  • Able to perform range of specialist diagnostic investigations on patients in a variety of clinical settings.

  • Experience in day-to-day supervision of staff.

  • Ability to lead and take part in audit or research projects   Undertakes testing and trials of clinical equipment

  • Evidence of highly developed written and oral communication skills in English in a variety of settings.

Qualifications

  • BSc (Hons) in Clinical Cardiac Physiology or BSc in Healthcare Science (Cardiac Physiology) or PTP equivalence.

  • At least one certification for Electrophysiology and CRM

  • British Society Heart Rhythm for Cardiac Rhythm Management Devices or Electrophysiology

  • International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners for Certified Electrophysiology Specialist or Certified Cardiac Device Specialist

  • European Heart Rhythm Association certified cardiac device specialists

  • Evidence of maintaining relevant Continuing Professional Development

  • ILS – Immediate Life Support Course
