We are seeking a Procurement ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Officer to join our team. As a Procurement ESG Officer, you will be responsible for collecting and analysing data, assessing performance, and driving sustainable development initiatives within our supply chain. You will play a key role in reducing Scope 3 carbon emissions, enhancing social value, and promoting ethical standards.
What you’ll do:
- Extract, gather and analyse supplier data to identify trends and opportunities for improving ESG performance
- Handle reporting requirements for various legal and industry frameworks, ensuring accuracy and transparency
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to gather and validate data required for ESG reporting.
- Collaborate with Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety (QEHS), Engineering, Project, and Compliance teams to align Procurement ESG goals.
- Conduct research and benchmarking to identify leading practices related to ESG in Procurement
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders while retaining the ability to question, challenge, and influence.
- Assist in developing and implementing ESG-related policies and procedures.
- Provide training and guidance to procurement teams on ESG principles, practices, and tools.
- Monitor ESG regulatory developments and advise on potential impacts on procurement processes.
- Present ESG-related updates and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
- Make prompt and clear decisions, taking responsibility for strategic priorities and promoting Telent’s social value principles.
- Support Procurement’s input to the corporate Disaster Recovery & Continuity Plan.
- Engage in bid support and functional activities to meet business requirements and promote the use of Telent’s tools and processes.
- Support the development of a high-performing and inclusive procurement team.
Who you are:
This role would be ideal for a candidate with strong numerical and analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a good understanding of data analysis and visualisation tools. An interest in sustainability and associated metrics/methodologies, such as carbon foot-printing and life cycle assessment. The role includes a structured professional development plan, leading to a Level 4 or 5 Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) qualification and progression to an Analyst role.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related fields/specialisms such as Economics, Market Research, Information Management, Statistics or Industrial Engineering.
- Work experience or internships in procurement, supply chain management, sustainability, or related fields.
- Understanding of procurement processes and supplier management.
- Basic knowledge of ESG principles, frameworks and reporting standards e.g. Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi),
