Job Purpose:
Partner with the NATS UK business and its leadership teams to provide pricing support, financial management, expert advice, and consultancy on any financially related matters.
Support the Head of Finance, UK in being a thought leader in all business aspects across the UK P&L, helping to identify and drive pan P&L and pan NSL improvement activities.
This role supports delivery of the wider finance vision, seeking to shape the future of aviation as a trusted business partner focussed on efficiency, collaboration, and innovation, as well as leading by example on our values of Growth, Control and Challenge.
Other duties include:
- Act as Finance lead on bid management teams, making decisions on bid pricing which will be based on your financial modelling that link to the Business strategies
- Ensuring pricing remains current and fit for purpose across the business
- Provide effective commercial procedures, or initiate change, to ensure key operational, commercial & financial targets are delivered
- Provide robust financial Governance to ensure corporate governance is being complied with and that any exceptions are being addressed
- Work with Programmes teams to ensure material value business cases/commercial contracts balance affordability, deliverability, and benefits in line with our commitments to external stakeholders
- Support commercial negotiation of material customer and supplier contracts, ensuring that financial elements of such are complete, unambiguous, adopt appropriate accounting treatments, are not unduly onerous, and are consistent with negotiated agreements and financial plans
- Promote financial policy deployment and implementation plans, ensure business feedback into business planning and financial reporting, and promote financial policy compliance
- Mentor and support Finance team members to ensure they are appropriately motivated and developed to perform their role
Essential Skills and Experience:
- A qualified accountant, either ACA, ACCA, or CIMA, with relevant post qualification experience
- Experience working in a rapidly changing environment and comfortable proposing, justifying, initiating, and implementing change
- Strong communication skills, comfortable presenting complex financial data, and concepts to senior staff
- Utilise analytical skills beyond traditional functions of finance, to deal with a broad range of commercial issues
- A proactive self-starter, able to deliver results and take initiative in solving problems
- Confidence to challenge and persuade key stakeholders, to build relationships achieve business objectives, maintaining personal and professional convictions
