As the Demand Lead for the force, you will assist in the management and delivery of an effective and comprehensive demand team by driving the delivery of the strategic direction set by the senior leadership team.

This role will be pivotal in acting as a trusted point of contact for the Performance and Demand team and our wider customers. The role will support the Data Insight Manager in the delivery, design, development and implementation of high-quality Demand management services and analytical products, in support of our Plan on a Page and the continuous improvement of the Corporate Assessment Framework. With the successful candidate providing a professional approach in striving for enhancements across the department, by supporting and championing innovative and effective processes and systems within the Demand area of Corporate Services.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for the continual development of the Demand & BI Analysts skills and capabilities.
  • Manages and motivates a team of Demand & BI Analysts, by engaging in the delivery of the strategic direction set by the senior management team and promoting a continuous improvement culture, to enable the transformation of resource modelling, scenario planning, forecasting, analytical products, and services.
  • Ensures that the Force’s demand is effectively measured, forecasted, evaluated, reported, and communicated to the Chief Officer Group, Command and Departmental Management Teams, the OPCC and required Boards, Meetings and Committees at a strategic and local level. By driving the design and development of innovative demand modelling, analysis and forecasting techniques, optimising new and innovative technologies available, to support understanding of the management and reduction of demand ensuring effective alignment of resources.
  • To ensure the effective delivery and measurement of demand management, demand reduction and demand forecasting services and techniques.
  • Be responsible for the accuracy, consistency and quality of demand data held across different data systems and challenges any deviation.
  • Maintains professional working relationship with key stakeholders across the organisation and actively seeks the development of key strategic external partnerships (including academia and other local authorities).
  • Supports the development and delivery of high-quality products and services in respect of the Force’s performance management and management information analytical processes to deliver the Force’s, Command’s and Department’s plans and priorities.
  • Ensures the continued development of technological and software solutions in providing real time access across the Force for performance and management information ‘dashboards’, to support local decision making and allocation of resources.
  • Advise and support Senior Leadership Teams with identifying the most relevant development of performance and demand indicators.
  • Contributes to the development of effective data quality systems to ensure the performance and demand, management information and analyses provided across the Force is accurate and timely.

What the role requires:

  • Relevant experience and/or a degree in Statistics or comparable qualification in a relevant subject.
  • The ability to evidence experience in data mapping, modelling, forecasting, and testing.
  • Experience in the development and delivery of performance and demand management systems / processes in a service orientated environment.
  • Experience of presenting to Senior Managers.
  • Effective consultation with the ability to maintain good working relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Ability to demonstrate negotiation and influencing skills.
