You will work closely within a small, dynamic team and will be responsible for managing internal fraud, bribery, computer misuse and corruption allegations against Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) staff, suppliers/contractors. Where appropriate, undertaking and supervising investigations (to criminal evidential standards) in accordance with PACE. You will also analyse reports to identify potential risks and undertake fraud risk assessments, recommending mitigating action.

We will look to you to ensure delivery of effective, timely, and focused counter fraud investigations in accordance with plans and corporate objectives.

You will have excellent communication skills and can communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. You will have the ability to confidently deliver face to face presentations to colleagues and stakeholders as you will be required to raise fraud awareness through engagement with internal and external stakeholders and delivery of regular face to face fraud awareness presentations.

This is a diverse and varied role, where no two days are the same.

Responsibilities 

Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

  • Managing internal investigations that involve DVLA staff or suppliers in accordance with DVLA policies, response plans and, where appropriate, to PACE standards.
  • Undertaking fraud risk assessments, reviewing internal controls, while developing actions to mitigate fraud risk and ensuring compliance with Government functional standards and/or best practice guidance.
  • Managing protective monitoring and ensuring enquiries of the record are for legitimate business purposes. Managing the annual security declaration process.

Additional Information

Person specification

You will have experience in dealing with investigations and applying legislation. Being analytically minded, you will have the ability to accurately and effectively interpret accurate information from investigating and using your exceptional attention to detail to achieve your objective. The matters you could be handling maybe very sensitive and difficult topics.

You would be described as a conscientious and self-motivated individual who takes responsibility and ensures all procedures are followed.

Excellent organisational skills are required, and you will be able to manage and filter workflow as well as organise and prioritise your work to maximise productivity and achieve all deadlines. You will be highly adaptable and flexible, adjusting to the requirements of the role.

You will have strong stakeholder management skills, where you can gain rapport quickly as you look to build effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

You are naturally inquisitive and value knowledge, ask questions and seek answers in-order-to deliver successful outcomes.

This interview will be conducted on site at DVLA, Swansea. Further details of which will be provided to you should you be selected for interview.
