We are looking for a Leeds United Reporter to join the team at LeedsLive where you will be responsible for finding and reporting on the stories and issues that matter to Leeds fans, in a way which ensures as many people as possible can access and respond to our work.

You’ll be delivering exclusives, agenda-setting analysis and finding the biggest and best stories at Elland Road which engage as many readers as possible and shed new light on the goings on to fans hungry for the latest news.

We’re looking for fresh ideas and new perspectives from people from a wide range of backgrounds, and we want you to tell us the stories you believe are important from our many communities so we can continue to diversify our content.

This role is home and hub based linked to our Leeds hub, we are therefore open to candidates based in and around Leeds.

What will the role involve?

You’ll be building a community of readers online and in real life so your stories are shared across social media and word of mouth whilst being the face of our Leeds United coverage online and in the community.

You will be able to tell stories in many different ways including news stories, interviews, features and real-time live blogs (especially around matches and fan Q&A opportunities).

Who are we looking for?

  • An experienced journalist with your NCTJ or equivalent qualification and media law knowledge
  • Excellent knowledge of football, Leeds United and the EFL with good experience of covering a professional club
  • A passion for digital storytelling in football journalism
  • An analytical eye and an ability to switch between delivering breaking news to fuller and detailed long-read features and tactical pieces
  • A strong people person who can develop and build contacts and knows the right questions to ask to get the best stories
  • A creative individual who can deliver constant flow of story ideas
  • Strong digital publishing skills including working a CMS, shooting video, taking pictures
  • Full clean driving licence preferable
