The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is an armed police service that’s dedicated to the nuclear industry. As our Strategy and Planning Manager you’ll support and embed a strategic approach to leading on our executive strategies and development of our Annual Business Plan and 3-Years Strategy supporting the Executive, through the appropriate governance channels.

We’re looking for someone who is a strategic thinker, able to visualise and articulate the need for governance, assurance, and its impact on organisations and their stakeholders. You’ll be a great communicator, able to persuade and influence key stakeholders within a complex management environment, and be effective at partnership working and delivering results in a matrix environment.

You’ll design and develop processes to enable the production of strategic analysis reports, in compliance with departmental and Force standards, working collaboratively with the wider Governance Team and other key players  to create maximum impact. You’ll own, lead, and coordinate the implementation of the Strategic Business Planning Process across the CNC, including Functional Plan development, horizon scanning, and strategic needs assessments. To do this you’ll build effective working relationships to support the Executive team and present the environmental scanning and PESTELO analysis to the Executive team and Board.

You’ll take responsibility for corporate reporting on planning, performance, and risk at the highest level of the organisation, with reference to the Framework Document for management, performance, and communication with our Government Sponsor Department (DESNZ).

To be successful in the role, you’ll ideally have experience in project management, particularly in coordinating multiple activities and programmes of work, with experience of planning, financial management, and change control.
