Are you an experienced journalist, with a passion for all things Royal family? Do you keep up with the latest royal weddings, feuds, pregnancies and fashion? Then you may be our newest Royal Reporter!
You will generate engaging Royal content for The Mirror and all Reach Magazine titles including OK!, New, S magazine, Notebook and Love Sunday. You will use your bursting contacts book to ensure we stay one step ahead when it comes to Britain’s most famous family.
We’re looking for fresh ideas and new perspectives from people from a wide range of backgrounds, and we want you to tell us the stories you believe are important from our many communities so we can continue to diversify our content.
So, who are we?
We are Reach Plc, you might not have heard of us but we have probably met without you even realising it. We are home to the UK and Ireland’s most iconic digital platforms, magazines and newspapers. From the Mirror, Daily Express and OK!, to our regional titles such as the Liverpool Echo, BirminghamLive and the Manchester Evening News (plus lots more), our brands and the stories we cover are as varied as our people. We help all kinds of people share experiences through our stories because we believe this is what makes us human.
Oh, and we should probably also mention that with a monthly readership of 47 million people, Reach is the largest commercial publisher in the UK. At Reach, not only will you feel better understood, you will also feel you understand other people better too.
This role is home and hub based, linked to our Canary Wharf Hub in London. We are therefore open to candidates based in and around London.
What will the role involve?
You will generate and write compelling Royal content, including event features, news pieces, exclusive stories, and interviews across both print and digital platforms for the Mirror and all titles within the Celebrity Magazine and Supplement Hub, always adhering to IPSO and legal requirements. You will nurture and develop a robust network of royal contacts, including experts and PR professionals.
You will attend relevant events as required, being first on the scene to secure the next royal scoop. You will stay up-to-date with the latest royal news and write in various styles and tones to suit different audiences and platforms. You will grow audiences by collaborating closely with editors and your team to produce both snappy articles and in-depth pieces on a daily basis. This role involves evening and weekend working on a rota basis, so a flexible approach is required.
Who are we looking for?
You are an experienced journalist with your NCTJ or equivalent qualification, media law knowledge and a proven track record of writing entertainment, and ideally Royal, content in a similar newsroom or magazine environment. You are an expert on all things celebrity and have an encyclopedic knowledge of the Royal family.
You are a fantastic writer, who works quickly and accurately to publish content at pace. You are just as confident attending red carpet events as you are interviewing royal contacts in person, with a bursting contacts book to use to secure exclusives.
