In partnership with the MOD, NATS deliver Air Traffic Control services at six Military Airfields (Barkston Heath, Gibraltar, Middle Wallop, Netheravon, Wattisham and Woodvale).
What you’ll do: As a safety related member of the team at NATS Gibraltar, Operational Support Staff work closely with all members of the Air Traffic Control team to ensure the safety of the airfield, and aircraft movements can be maintained during airfield operating hours.
Other duties include: Reporting directly to the Senior Emergency Medical Technician, and Senior Air Traffic Controller, the Operational Support Staff member will be responsible for the following:
- Providing operational assistance to the Aerodrome Controller
- Emergency Medical Technician services in accordance with Medical Response Team training and practices
- Airfield Wildlife Control services, and Airside driving duties
- Receiving and actioning of flight plans, important Notices, flight progress strips – and other related flight data
- Slot monitoring and co-ordination with Euro control
- Maintaining operational statistics, databases, and reporting
- Administration support actives as required
Who you’ll be:
- A good standard of literacy and numeracy is essential
- A strong team player is required with the ability to demonstrate flexibility in meeting various working demands placed upon them
- The post holder must be able to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels of the organisation both internal also with external NATS customers
- Good IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft office
- A clean, valid full driving license
- FPOS (I), FREC 3 or similar First Aid training qualifications are desirable but not essential
- Experience working at an airfield or similar safety related environment
