EHS Manager

Our Field teams are critical in the delivery of our contracts, whether that is delivering or supervising maintenance, installation, cabling or civils works. Help build and keep the nation’s critical infrastructure connected and protected 24/7.
Reporting into the Head of Health, Safety & Environment, the EHS Manager will provide support for the Telent Rail business which operates within the UK wide rail environment. This is an agile working role, with a requirement to travel around the Midlands and South region.
What you’ll do:
- Develops, implements and oversees the business unit’s environmental health and safety programs and procedures to safeguard employees and surrounding communities and to ensure that all facilities and practices are in compliance with regulations
- Establishes suitable inspection programmes to ensure compliance with procedures, Client requirements, and EHS laws, standards and regulations.
- Liaison with Suppliers to ensure the effective assurance of supply chain and the definition of standards required for approval and retention of key suppliers and sub-contractors.
- Ongoing development of Business Unit competency and performance in EHS and Security related matters.
- Management of Project EHS requirements and resources
- Management of day to day accident and incident databases
- Production and support of monthly reports
Who you are:
You will have previous experience in a Health and Safety role within the Rail industry, and be a strong communicator with excellent team management skills.
Key Requirements:
- CMIOSH and NEBOSH Diploma is essential
- High level working knowledge of Rail industry standards and legislation
- Management experience in a similar role in the Rail industry is essential
- Relevant auditor qualifications (minimum internal auditor qualification)
- Full NR PTS (Personal Track Safety) qualification desirable
- Full clean driving license
- Ability to travel and work nights / weekends on the rare occasion
