Environment Manager

The opportunity:

Your new role will support the Senior Environmental Manager and Sustainable Operations team to evolve and drive NATS’ Environmental programme, aligning to and supporting long term sustainable business strategy and goals.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring environmental compliance across NATS’ estate, through the maintenance and improvement of NATS ISO14001 certified management system and connect with stakeholders across the business, raising awareness of environmental priorities and targets, to help improve performance and reduce the impact of NATS’ activities on the environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Identify opportunities to drive NATS’ ambition to become Net Zero on estate environmental impacts, providing subject matter expertise to business areas.
  • Maintenance of our existing ISO 14001 certified Environmental Management System, including conducting internal audits, updating documentation, and ensuring continued compliance.
  • Support with monthly reporting requirements, including the calculation and reporting of GHG emissions associated with our business activities.
  • Support the development of estate net zero and carbon negative communications and generate engaging content.

Your skills & experience:

  • Extensive experience of environmental management with excellent knowledge of environmental impacts and environmental management systems.
  • Good knowledge of environmental legislation, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Strong reporting and environmental auditing skills.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills with the ability to analyse large and complex datasets.
  • An excellent communicator at all levels with first class written and verbal communication skills and an enquiring mind.
  • Educated to degree level in an Environmental or Sustainability discipline (desirable).
  • Experience of deploying environmental strategies and a track record of delivering projects to support environmental strategies (desirable).
  • Understanding of corporate non-financial reporting developments, including but not limited to NFR, TCFD, SDGs and CDP (desirable).
