Job Purpose
As a Remote Site Engineer (RSE), you will play a vital role in delivering efficient Facilities Management services at Airports and remote Communication, Navigational Aid, and RADAR (A/CNS) sites. You will manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring legislative compliance, health and safety, and operational safety. This includes overseeing industry best practices and optimizing value for money in all operations.
Duties Include
- Coordinate daily with NATS and non-NATS staff to achieve planning and response objectives.
- Liaise with site departments on project requirements, space, and cable routes.
- Provide input for Asset Health Reviews to sustain CNS and airport sites.
- Plan for the medium term (1-2 years) to create the annual maintenance plan.
- Conduct detailed tactical planning to address urgent operational needs.
- Organise work on the Electrical and Mechanical Systems, coordinating with staff and contractors, and keep site management informed.
- Ensure contractor tasks meet NATS safety and business commitments.
- Rapidly analyse and respond to operational situations.
- Collaborate with the Facilities Manager to ensure continuous Mechanical and Electrical services for ATM operations.
- Participate in an organised Call-Out system as needed.
Qualifications/Skills
- Minimum HNC (NVQ Level 4) in Electronic or Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience; understanding of mechanical plant and equipment in large mission-critical buildings.
- Relevant experience in operating and maintaining complex building Facility Management systems; extensive engineering experience considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with tact and diplomacy at all levels for both technical and non-technical subjects.
- Experience in 24/7 Facilities Services Delivery, ideally with a formal management qualification.
- Working knowledge and application of the Health and Safety at Work 1974 Act and associated regulations such as the Electricity at Work Regulations and BS7671.
- Knowledge or experience of a working in a mission critical environment.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, email, and SharePoint.
Ideal for candidates primarily based in Southeast Scotland, particularly between Glasgow, Edinburgh, and the southern regions, though not limited to this area.
This role involves significant travel, and a company vehicle will be provided.
