Lead Systems Engineer

We are currently recruiting for a Lead Systems Engineer to join the Transport side of their business based from our office near Canning Town. This is a Hybrid role with half your time in the office and the rest from home.
The Lead System Engineer will work in a small team that supports both the projects team and maintenance team delivering works across London Underground and Network Rail systems
Key Requirements:
- Experience of designing, building, testing and maintaining Windows Server architectures
- Worked with or built virtualisation instances preferably VMware.
- Experience with deploying cyber security systems and processes.
- Experience with maintaining or building Microsoft SQL databases.
- (desirable)
- Qualifications: Microsoft Server Certification including Servers and or SQL and Cisco CCNA (desirable)
What you’ll do:
- The role will be to lead a team of IT infrastructure focused systems engineers
- Support the maintenance and upgrade of IT infrastructure including windows servers SQL databases and VMware.
- Acting as the lead engineer to provide technical support for the maintenance and project delivery teams.
- The work will be across our internal remote systems and supporting and our customer systems.
- Provide a technical interface to the client.
Who you are:
You will be an effective communicator (both written and verbal) with proven experience within a networks or Server infrastructure environment and communicate effectively and be able to communicate positively with customers and colleagues in a challenging environment.
