Learning Developer

Job Purpose

The purpose of the role is to create multimedia training materials. With a learning development background, this role collaborates across Design and Development teams to ensure that engaging and interactive training solutions are created and delivered efficiently, to meet customer needs.

Duties Include

  • Apply critical thinking to analyse design problems and develop best solutions
  • Create, develop, and review learning developments to ensure products meet requirements
  • Manage, action, collaborate on a brief from the design team, to develop the learning experience, whilst working with wider creative specialists, (such as app developers, video producers, voice-over artists, graphics artists and animators) to produce materials
  • Use, maintain currency in, and develop with the latest authoring tools and technologies, for development to ensure materials are produced
  • Conduct and verify Quality Assurance of materials produced to ensure materials meet design standards
  • Host and release learning materials to ensure materials are accessible and can be evaluated against performance
  • Establish, set up and confirm maintenance and change procedures to ensure materials can be updated, reusable elements extracted, and products reviewed before they are archived

Qualifications/Skills

  • Design based degree or equivalent
  • Qualifications in multimedia learning environment, or demonstrable equivalent experience, knowledge and skills for multimedia-based training are desirable
  • Experience in client-facing media development
  • Demonstrable experience in production of eLearning, web development, graphic design, and video materials
  • Strong knowledge and ability of digital creation software. Ideally Adobe creative suite (photoshop, illustrator, aftereffects) and rapid authoring tools Captive, Articulate and Evolve
  • Proven ability and experience with Learning Management/Digital release of products is desirable (Cornerstone on Demand)
  • Experience working with and around a brand identity
  • A proven ability to prioritise and organise workload to meet demand
  • Ability to understand and synthesise complex subjects into effective training material
  • Strong design and development skills are essential along with a focussed attention to detail and an ability to analyse, organise and convey complex ideas through design
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels and experience
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a capacity to work effectively alone or in a wider team
