As a Network Engineer in our organization, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the stability, reliability, and security of our network infrastructure. You’ll play a crucial role in maintaining existing systems, troubleshooting issues, and providing timely support to end-users.
What you’ll do:
Network Monitoring and Maintenance:
- Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and proactively address issues.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including software updates, patch management, and configuration backups.
- Troubleshoot network outages and connectivity problems, root cause analysis.
User Support:
- Respond to incidents related to network connectivity, access, and performance.
- Collaborate with helpdesk teams to resolve network-related tickets promptly.
Security and Compliance:
- Implement security best practices, including firewall rules, access controls, and intrusion detection.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal policies.
- Regularly review firewall rules and maintain them as needed.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
- Create and update knowledge base articles for common network issues.
Change Control:
- Write, review, and adhere to change control notifications and procedures which are vital for ensuring stability in a live production environment.
Continuous Improvement:
- Review, feedback and update procedures and practices to enhance our support offering.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field or substantial Networking experience.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent is desirable.
- Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF) and network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
