Telent are now looking to hire for a Project Engineer who has Wireless Telecommunications experience – we have some exciting projects across the Mobile Network Operator industry, with new and upcoming projects in the pipeline. This Project Engineer opportunity provides Hybrid Working flexibility, where you will be based out of either the Warwick office or Melton Mowbray office (agreed locally) at least 2 days per week, and the rest working from home – you must be willing to travel to an office and hold a full UK driving license.

The successful Project Engineer will undertake technical engineering duties for implementation projects on operational Wireless Telecoms equipment, systems, products and services within a designated business area. This is your opportunity to widen and expand your role, getting involved in, leading and supporting key “design to build” transitions.
Wireless Project Engineer – What you’ll do:
- Produce / manage RFIs, TQs, Outage requests and site information requests.
- Produce Bill Of Materials (BoM’s) and equipment lists to support subsequent Build phases.
- Able to undertake technical site surveys and audits.
- Support other disciplines and the Design team in delivering innovative solutions and resolving any technical issues.
- Produce or support with Design Engineering drawings.
- Produce method statements (WPPs, TBSs) to the client(s).
- Attend IDCs/IDRs with customers and stakeholders when and where required.
- Provide technical support to Project Manager and any site-based Engineers where required.
- Act as a single point of contact with client representatives on all matters relating to Project Engineering.
- Comply to HSE and Wireless standards whilst also considering the clients’ requirements.
Wireless Project Engineer – Who you are:
The ideal Wireless Project Engineer will again, be coming in from a Wireless Telecoms background, having had experience of completing design reviews / peer reviews of Wireless Telecoms designs, that will eventually be handed over to the Build team (eg. Greenfield, rooftop designs of Towers, Antennas, Masts etc). The Project Engineer will also be required to present any Design Changes with the client(s) and internal stakeholders within the Wireless team. These projects are mainly within the Vendor Swap arena, giving you a great opportunity to work with some established names.
Wireless Project Engineer – Key requirements:
- Good knowledge of the standards and processes applicable to the business area.
- Attention to detail is essential even within short timescale scopes.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly communicate within a project team.
- Computer literate, familiar with MS Office, Word, Excel, etc.
- Able to provide support for technical aspects on assigned business development / bids.
- Customer focussed and able to deal with internal and external stakeholders.
- Solid knowledge of Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations as applicable to the business area.
- Minimum BEng Degree level of education, or equivalent experience within the Wireless Telecoms / Wireless Vendor Swap arena.
