NATS is the UK’s leading air navigation service provider, handling over 2 million flights each year. It provides air traffic control services from two control centres supporting airports all around the UK, as well as a wide range of commercial solutions to over 30 countries internationally.
We are recruiting for a Project Manager who will be responsible for managing the delivery of projects allocated to them within a Portfolio of contracts, within NATS Airport Engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the successful delivery of projects to quality, timescales and customer satisfaction.
Key Duties

Leading and directing several projects assigned to them by the Programme Manager and taking full accountability as Project Manager, managing the appropriate internal resource, suppliers and sub-contractors. They will be responsible, for the delivery of their projects to achieve all performance targets.

Ensuring projects meet all relevant NATS Management System governance and management/reporting requirements.

Directing and tasking the project team to ensure most effective delivery incl. costs control, whilst managing internal and external stakeholders building trust and partnerships to direct the delivery to meet existing and future requirements (as contract variations).

Directing and managing the delivery of the stakeholder meetings, presentations, reports and workshops.

Preparing and maintaining schedules of activities and events, taking account of dependencies and resource requirements and displaying alternative fall back mitigations.

Developing and agreeing budgets for projects and controlling forecast and actual costs against them. Quantitative and Qualitative management of project risks (threats and opportunities), planning and implementing responses to them and responding to other issues that affect projects.

Developing, maintaining and applying quality management processes for project activities including deliverables, issues and decisions and outputs considering lessons learning.
Qualification/Skills

Qualified in project management e.g. APM, PRINCE2

Proven skills in all facets of Project Management and Risk Management

Understanding major contracts for the provision of goods and/or services, monitoring compliance and managing variances

Understands the customer strategic drivers Excellent analytical reasoning skills, able to communicate well both verbally and in writing

Credible impact, with developed negotiation and conflict resolution style; able to take people with them. Able to demonstrate clear leadership attributes

Knowledge and understanding of airport operational domain is of benefit
-
Management of ATC equipment replacement projects would be of benefit
-
Experience of high profile projects and programmes would be of benefit
-
Experience and evidence of a high level of stakeholder management within complex projects is required
