Role overview
It’s an exciting time for us here at Hastings Direct. Our Risk Pricing team is expanding in line with our ambition to be the Best and Biggest digital insurer in the UK, and with this growth in mind, we have an exciting opportunity for a curious, creative and data-driven character to dive into Risk Pricing – identifying opportunities to improve how we assess risk, to give a fairer price to our customers.

Everything we do starts and ends with our data, so whether it’s by drawing insights from it, exploring new ways of how we use it, or finding value in more that we can add to it, you’ll be up close and personal with the work that makes a direct impact on the day-to-day success of the business.
A day in the life might involve:
- Perusing our reports for a lead that you can chase down.
- Collaborating with other areas of our department to bring a new data source to life.
- Owning and sharing your ideas at an executive level, making real change.
Essential skills we would love you to have:
However far we delve into the data, we feel it’s important to keep sight of the bigger picture; we’re looking for people who are comfortable and confident with numerical and statistical information, that are able to explain what they are seeing with a range of detail.
We’d also love it if you knew your way around an analytical programming environment, whether that be Python, R or any other language/toolkit that you use to find solutions.
Whilst the technical skills to yield results are a vital element of your skillset, we get excited when we see you get excited. We want you to take the initiative, innovate and be accountable & honest for the approaches you take, and most importantly be passionate about the work you do.

- Recruiter screening call
- 1st stage interview with hiring leader
- 2nd interview with hiring leaders (panel)
