Job Details – Senior Pricing Manager
The engine in any insurance company is working out the correct price we should charge to cover the claims costs we expect to have – and this role leads on that. Absolutely at the heart of our pricing strategy, you’ll be leading on the development of pricing strategies with a high level of accountability on making sure we get the mix of customer value with our own commercial ambitions right.

Accountabilities
- Ownership of Telematics Underwriting (UW) Pricing strategies with responsibility for net price we deliver to the customer, with a view to creating equal balance between customer and company value (delivering against our pricing strategy)
- Hands on development of our UW Pricing models using various data sets and techniques to deliver the optimal pricing outcome
- Analyse large complex datasets to drive decision making that translates into commercial and customer value
- Building and delivering robust MI and BI reporting to track key metrics and support trading and business decision making – allowing you to gain approval with our panel on your changes
- Grounding all data and pricing decisions / practices in clear documented principles, as well as managing and developing processes that reduce the likelihood of errors occurring always with the customer in mind
- Ensure the customer is always delivered with a price that is fair, justifiable and in-line with our governance and processes
- Developing new solutions (such as machine learning algorithms) to automate processes where they could had additional value and reduce the need for manual intervention long-term
- Desire to continue learning new modelling techniques / finding new data sources to ensure we stay ahead of our competitors
Skills we would love you to have
Essential
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of what makes a successful and profitable business
- Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of individuals, both technical and non-technical
- Advanced programming language skill (This could be R, Phyton, SQL, Radar or any other coding-based language
- Experience of managing large datasets (storage, de-duping etc.) would be of great use
- Keen eye for detail
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management
- The ability to work under pressure and prioritize accordingly
- Ability to think strategically about long-term goals and balance short-term objective
Desirable
- Understanding of the insurance market
- Working with external partners
- Knowledge of financial services regulation, for example FCA and TCF guidelines
