Senior Trainer

Job Purpose:

As a Senior Trainer at NATS you will look to provide drive and enthusiasm for knowledge sharing and skills development to assist individuals to realise their potential.

Provide business and technical training to Technical Services, Service Delivery teams and external customers.

Teach and support engineers and colleagues in understanding new technical skills, embracing new ways of working to bring out the best in the individuals.

Support the optimisation of delivery methodologies, whilst utilising innovative solutions to make a positive change to technical learning.

Duties Include:

  • Teaching and supporting individuals’ technical skills.
  • Ensure all training within direct responsibility is kept up to date, collaborating with stakeholders to confirm compliance with regulations.
  • Assist developing training material that clearly reflects the operational use of the service(s) and which meets operational and design needs within allocated budgets.
  • Allocate course workload, motivate delegates, carry out continuous assessment, utilising formative, and summative assessments.
  • Adapt different learning methodologies to suit different learning styles, providing the best opportunities for delegates to meet training objectives.
  • Check the system documentation is up to date and as required for training, highlighting any deficiencies to Service Designers.
  • Consults with customers/stakeholders to develop and agree training solutions.
  • Meets business requirements by managing student activity to meet the agreed objectives.
  • Engage stakeholders by offering training solutions to meet internal and external customers training needs.
  • Delivers training in person or online (MS Teams).
  • May involve travel to sites in the UK, Europe and further afield.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must be qualified to HND or equivalent in an engineering, science, or numerate discipline.
  • Training and Instruction Qualification to Level 3 or equivalent. Desirable.
  • Personnel not holding the professional engineering qualification must have undertaken structured Engineering training (e.g., CAA Bletchley or apprenticeship recognised by a professional body) and have engineering experience.
