Job Purpose:
We are seeking a Service Delivery Engineer to join our Support Team who maintain the Surveillance systems at our centres located at Swanwick, Whiteley and Prestwick.
This is a fantastic time to join our team as we work to improve our Surveillance infrastructure and services by introducing new technology and surveillance equipment to ensure that we continue to deliver a reliable service to our customers as well as supporting the airspace user needs of the future.

Duties include:
- Responsible for providing specialist expert knowledge to assigned/escalated Incidents, prioritising, diagnosing and resolving them using agreed procedures.
- Analysis of Events and Incidents to initiate and undertake Problem Management activities in order to continuously improve service provision.
- Responsible for ensuring processes and tools are applied so that service configuration records remain accurate, complete and current.
- Responsible for effective application of risk management to ensure that service levels are met, and residual risks are recorded and communicated.
- Responsible for implementing assigned Changes, to meet customer requirements and improve the service.
Essential skills and experience:
- Qualified to at least HNC level in an Engineering or IT discipline.
- Proven experience of working in an operational, real time safety/mission critical environment and you should have an appreciation of Air Traffic Control services.
- Knowledge and experience of Linux/Unix/AIX, networks, virtualisation and data centre architecture technologies.
- Strong understanding of computer technology and hardware.
- Proven ability to work in teams, take responsibility, delegate, plan and schedule activities efficiently.
- Ability to technically supervise others.
- Ability to communicate in a clear and precise manner (both written and oral).
- Ability to work calmly and systematically when resolving service incidents in a safety-related context.
- The job holder is required to be flexible and adaptive in an environment of continuous technology platform changes.
Additional vacancy information:
The successful candidate will complete a comprehensive training programme to gain the necessary system knowledge. Once trained, you will be a member of an on-call roster as part of the 24-hour support to the operation. There may be the need to provide phone support or attend out of hours for service restoration or to deploy planned service changes. You must be able to attend either our Swanwick or Prestwick Centre within 1 hour of the call.
