We are currently seeking an expert individual to join this team in the role of Strategic Planning & Stress Testing – Senior Finance Manager.

Stress testing is a vital component in assessing the bank’s vulnerabilities, determining capital adequacy and thereby the resilience of the bank through improved risk and capital management.

You will operate within one of the most complex Finance and Risk management processes within the bank, with results driving capital requirements and the potential to affect our reputation, curtail dividends and remuneration. As a result, stress testing is a strategic and regulatory priority with ever increasing expectations.

In this role, you will:

* Develop complex plans and run books to deliver stress testing activities within HSBC UK SP&ST which will require broad technical knowledge across various functions, and work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure cohesive and executables plans are developed;
* Lead the execution of various cycles to ensure timely and complete submissions to various Executive and HSBC UK governance forums and our Regulators;
* Lead the co-ordination and review of quarterly actuals reporting to the Regulator, along with supporting ad-hoc regulatory data requests;
* Review elements of the P&L and Balance Sheet projection data with various business teams, such as Liquidity, Structured Finance and Operational Risk Losses;
* Review and challenge submissions for quality, ensuring relevant controls and data limitations are appropriately considered;
* Improve the HSBC UK control framework and compliance with Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) stress testing principles across various execution cycles;
* Represent HSBC UK across the Group, influencing key stakeholders, attending various working groups and committees and provide accurate information status, risk, and issues updates to various forums;
* Manage the development of process flows by core processes, reviewing the documented control points and handoffs for completeness and enforcing minimum standards;
* Continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

* Demonstrable Finance or Risk experience;
* Project Management skills and managing complex procedures;
* Experience analysing and documenting end to end processes;
* Analytical skills to be able to independently review outputs;
* Experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders (at all levels of seniority).

The base location for this role is Birmingham and with a hybrid working pattern.
