We are looking for an Affiliates Writer to join the Manchester Evening News team. This is an exciting opportunity to write about all things Tech, entertainment, travel and beyond, including affiliate links that generate revenue and provide our readers with up to date and honest reviews about the trending products, events and deals.

This role is home and hub based linked to our Manchester Hub. We are therefore open to candidates based in and around Greater Manchester.

What will the role involve?

You will play a pivotal role in our Affiliates Team and our plans to grow our affiliate content, by writing engaging and informative reviews and social content. You will create content covering a wide variety of topics as well as providing additional support around major affiliate opportunities including Black Friday, concert launches, Amazon Prime Day and more.

You will maintain a portfolio of evergreen content that will remain updated and rank well in search results. Your reviews will include affiliate links to monetise your editorial output and you will keep your finger on the pulse of the latest deals. This role will involve working shifts on a rota basis including some evenings and weekends, so a flexible approach is required.

Who are we looking for?

You are an NCTJ qualified journalist or equivalent with media law knowledge and a proven track record of working in a fast paced digital newsroom environment. You have an understanding of affiliate content and are brimming with pitches for exciting new audience led content. You have a keen eye for spotting trending content and products that you think our readers would be interested in.

You have excellent knowledge of social media platforms, especially Tik Tok and can create engaging video content both behind of and in front of the camera. You are a first class writer who can create accurate content at pace and meet deadlines with ease. You have excellent commercial awareness and experience in crafting organic SEO content.
