The services we deliver are about much more than 999 calls and emergency response, like our prevention and protection activities, which make people and businesses in the West Midlands safer and stronger.
Responsibilities
Our research and data help us understand who’s most at risk from fire and other incidents, and when and where they happen. This data also helps us to identify opportunities to improve, use our resources more effectively and efficiently to help those who need it most.
But there’s a lot more to consider- things like climate change, building and infrastructure developments, technology, world events, changes in health, social or economical issues. These all shape the risks our communities face now and are likely to face in the future.
The post holder will:
have a proven ability to interpret complex data and risk intelligence, with an understanding of how this can influence community risk management decision making and aid effective risk horizon scanning.
Take a consistent and methodical approach to gathering data to ensure the Community Risk Management Plan is fit for purpose.
Be responsible for data handling, data analysis, modelling, mapping, reporting and research across a range of subject areas, to support the generation and collation of intelligence to inform organisational decision making, risk management, resource planning, evaluation and performance monitoring processes.
Provide expert input and professional insight on available data and its analysis for purposes including performance management, forecasting and target setting; resource management and deployment; scenario modelling and the creation and interpretation of maps, charts, diagrams, reports and presentations in line with time critical deadlines.
Using specialist and bespoke software systems and applications, to collate and interpret data into meaningful, accurate and timely intelligence reports for consumption by a variety of audiences and stakeholders.
