What you’ll do

Are you ready to lead and inspire a team of Senior System Administrators and System Administrators.  We are seeking a dedicated professional to:

  • Lead and Manage: Ensure your team fully understands relevant systems and capabilities, working closely with the business to optimize processes and enable efficient, effective working practices.
  • Set Standards: Establish and uphold configuration standards for all managed systems, maintaining up-to-date configuration design documents and process maps.
  • Optimize Systems: Oversee the effective configuration of operational systems (e.g., Force RMS, Command & Control, and Gazetteer) to enhance system effectiveness and user experience, supporting outstanding operational processes.
  • Manage Changes: Implement and maintain robust change and release management processes to ensure safe configuration, development, and deployment, minimizing risk to operational services.
  • Align Environments: Ensure all environments (e.g., Dev, Test, Train, Production) are aligned to facilitate the development and configuration lifecycle.

What you’ll bring

  • A good understanding of large IT Systems and the implications of emerging technologies for the Police environment.
  • Project Management (e.g. Prince 2) or similar Project Management qualification (e.g. Agile or Product Management).
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Able to work under own initiative; prioritising tasks to meet the needs of the business.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and logical, innovative thinking.
  • Possess good analytical skills, with an understanding of the need for accuracy and attention to detail.

Terms of appointment

This is a permanent role subject to a six-month probationary period.
