The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is an armed police service that’s dedicated to the nuclear industry. As our Risk Manager, you’ll develop our risk strategy, standards, policies, and procedures and facilitate the maintenance of risk management records – ensuring a robust audit trail.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Governance Team to provide the CNC with assurance over our risk management framework and the operational risks in our day-to-day operations. You’ll work closely to engage stakeholders to define the objectives and scope of monitoring reviews, and aid stakeholder understanding of key risks and issues, with appropriate assessment and scoring of risks. The CNC are involved in some major and complex projects, so you’ll assist with risk modelling and analysis to produce and advise on levels of contingency require to protect us from undue risk. You’ll take an overall view of the organisation, liaising with regional and national risk groups to keep informed of the wider risk landscape to help us to identify and report on key risk exposure.

With your experience of risk management and advice, you’ll champion our Risk Management Framework and positively contribute to the embedding of a risk mature culture. Using your excellent communication skills you will coach and influence colleagues to take accountability for risk-based decision making. You’ll need to be suitably qualified and able to demonstrate a strong understanding of risk management, so will be either a Practitioner with the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors, Certified Internal Auditor or hold an Institute of Risk Management qualification. You’ll have experience of producing clear and concise reports up to and including Board level.
