Sports and Exercise Medicine Consultant/ MSK Physician

Opportunity to work onsite in our corporate client clinic in Central London

Part time – 2 days (Mondays/Tuesdays and Thursdays)

The purpose of this role is to deliver clinical consultations and procedures to a high level of care to clients with SEM/MSK conditions at a Bupa Health Clinic, based within a large Corporate Global Investment Bank.

You will be working within a multidisciplinary MSK team of highly experienced Physiotherapists, Osteopaths, and a Podiatrist, supported by Primary Care, Psychiatry and Psychology.

You’ll help us make health happy by:

  • Delivering best practice care to corporate clients following Bupa clinical governance, MSK care pathways and all necessary professional codes of conduct. Best practice represents the most modern, professional and appropriate approach to the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions.

  • Maintaining familiarity with the Quality and MSK drives to enable adherence to these policies at all times.

  • Participating in the annual Bupa Clinical Review and meet the standards required.

  • Complying with Quality Audits/ISO /CQC requirements.

  • Complying with procedures for Clinical Waste/Sharps disposal & Infection Control

  • Complying with incident reporting, ensuring details are logged immediately.

  • To actively participate in Clinical Governance and Audit activities, clinical service development and multi-disciplinary teamwork in clinical practice

  • To represent SEM/MSK where required, including the internal Clinical Strategy Group held by our Corporate Client

  • To document consultations appropriately on the Electronic Medical Records System and correspond with all parties involved in the patient’s care

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

  • GMC registration & license to practice – listed on the Sport and Exercise Consultant register

  • CCT or equivalent experience (Article 14) in Sport and Exercise Medicine

  • Post-graduate Diploma or MSc in MSK Medical or SEM from a recognised awarding body

  • Evidence of at least 9 years post-CCT clinical practice within MSK medicine

  • Excellent customer skills and a passion to deliver high levels of effective evidence-based care

  • Significant experience of working within an MSK/SEM MDT

  • Experience treating private patients

  • Experience with sports injuries

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, written and verbal skills, organisation and time management

  • Interest in continuing development – professional and business
