The Role

As part of the technology workstream, the Test Engineer will support the

development and testing of highly effective and critical applications.


Team Hybrid Working Style

The expectation for this role, will involve a minimum of one day a month working

out of our London Bridge office.


Key Accountabilities Include

Testing Practices

• Test Planning – Create and validate test plans.

• Test Design – Translate business requirements and operational workflows

into test scenarios and test cases.

• Test Execution – Execute tests to ensure testing standards meet business

requirements.

• Test Reporting – Capture and report on test metrics associated with test activities.

• Collaboration- Co-ordinate the test activities with other workstreams and liaise

with third party providers as required.

• Agile Delivery – Undertake all test activities of assigned workstream, which meet

the agreed Sprint Goals and delivery of high-quality working software every 2 weeks.

• Change Management – Test emergency changes as required.


Risk and Control Management

• Identify, manage, and escalate risks to Head of Testing.

• Ensure all testing processes and procedures are followed to operate safely

within risk appetite and the risk of any appetite breaches is low to nil.

• Support the Head of Testing with encouraging a risk management culture with

strong, effective controls.


You’ll Need to Have

Essential

• Degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• ISTQB Certified (at least Foundation).

• Proficient in SQL.

• Experience in testing process life cycle to define, validate and execute test scripts.

• Strong organisational skills – ability to manage critical testing tasks accurately

within the agreed test frames.

• Great critical thinking skills and attention to detail.

• Quick learner and likes challenges.

• Basic Test Automation Skills.

Desirable

• Experience in using Git repositories.

• Relevant testing experience within banking or financial services industry.

• Experience of testing in an environment with multiple third-party suppliers,

including development of joint testing assets and establishing technical connectivity.

• Able to demonstrate the ability to operate in an environment where detailed frameworks

for testing do not exist and able to develop those.
